The Orchid 308 is an ideal telephone system for the cost conscious small business or branch office that requires features such as hold, transfer, conference, auto attendant, etc.  Features on the system are accessed by using the recall (R) button, which is found on virtually any corded or cordless telephone.  If it is important for a user to know the status of each extension (busy or idle), they need only glance at the control unit where this information is displayed.  Don't let the low price fool you...this phone system provides all the features required for most small businesses.

Telephones ...The Orchid PBX is compatible with almost any standard telephone but we recommend the Orchid range of phones listed below. To make ordering simpler we have included Orchid phones, Orchid headset, BT Diverse 6110 and installation material on the Orchid PBX order form.

Orchid Monaural Headset (£29.99 ex. vat) is fully compatible with most headset telephones including the Orchid DBT2000 and DBT3000.  This well designed headset provides comfort and excellent audio characteristics.  Features include quick disconnect connections, replaceable leather ear cushion, fully adjustable headband.

BT Response 75 ( £29.50)  Messages are recorded digitally - that means consistent quality, fast resetting, and no tapes to get tangled or worn out.  The Response 75 simply plugs into one of the eight extension sockets.   When this item is ordered with the Orchid PBX 308 we include a free RJ11 to BT adaptor so there is no wiring required.

Orchid Music on Hold CD Player (£39.99) The Orchid PBX308 has an external music on hold port.  This CD player is supplied with a mains adaptor plus an audio lead that is compatible with the Orchid PBX.  Installation couldn't be simpler, you simply connect the audio lead to the music audio socket on the PBX, insert your CD and turn it on.  Your customers will now hear the CD whenever you place them on hold.  We also offer a music-on-hold CD with a range of music and reassurance messages (i.e. sorry to keep you waiting an attendant will be with you shortly) at a reduced price of £19.50 when purchased with the Orchid PBX.

Orchid PBX308 Installation Notes:-

The system should be located near your exchange line sockets and a power point.  The Orchid 308 is wall mounted by drilling two holes, 18cm apart.  The installer simply adjusts the screw heads until the PBX fits firmly against the wall.

The Orchid 308 phone system has an RJ-11 output for each of the three lines. We provide three line cords (RJ11 plug on one end and a standard BT plug on the other) with each system.  To install the lines you simply plug one end of the cord into the Orchid PBX and the other into the line socket that your provider (British Telecom etc.) fitted.

The Orchid PBX 308  also has RJ11 sockets for each of the eight extensions. If you would like to avoid wiring... we stock extension lines cords for Orchid phones and standard phones... 5M £2.50, 10M £3.25, 20M £4.65.

Programming:-

The Orchid 308 PBX is supplied with a CD that includes installation notes, user guide and programming information.  Programming is accomplished with a standard single line phone.  The following notes provide a few examples of programming the system.  They are not intended to replace the guide that is supplied with the system.  All programming is done from extension 201

System Password...

The default password is *01 1234 #  If the password is entered correctly you will hear a Beep...if unsuccessful you will hear a series of beeps.  As the password needs to be entered each time you do any programming, we suggest you store it into a one-touch memory button as this will simplify programming.

Tell the system how many lines you have...

Assign incoming calls to ring nominated extensions

Example 1: - To assign all incoming calls on line 1  to ring 202, 206, 207

Off Hook >dial password *1 1 267 #On Hook

Example 2:- To assign all incoming calls on line 3  to ring 205 and 206

Off Hook >dial password *1 3 56 # On Hook

Assign an extension to use only a specific exchange line for outgoing calls

Example: To restrict extension 208 to use exchange line 3 only

Assign extensions for direct dial mode

The factory setting is such that all extensions must dial 9 for a line.  Extensions that make a lot of outgoing call and only a few internal calls (telesales for example) can be changed to direct dial extensions, whereby as soon as they go off hook they immediately get an outside line.  No need to dial 9 and makes redialling very easy.  This is also a popular feature for residential use.

Example 1: To convert extension 204 to direct dial

Auto Attendant Mode / DISA

Auto Attendant mode can be applied to one line or all lines.  When in the Auto Attendant mode your incoming callers can be instructed to dial the extension they want (if known) or dial 0 for the operator or wait for the operator.

To record the Auto Attendant outgoing message (up to 25 seconds)

Off Hook >dial password * 2 2 # hear beep, record message > On Hook

Off Hook>password * 2 3 # listen to message > On Hook

To assign all lines for Auto attendant
