Question? Why are the prices so much lower than last year? Answer... When we first launched the BT Pathway Phone System (2004) it quickly became our best selling phone system. As far as we know it was the first BT phone system that was sold through independent distribution channels. After only two years of better then expected sales, BT discontinued the product. Cynics might suggest that the BT Pathway was too successful as it took sales away from BT's own direct sales organisation. The good news is that we now have access to over 100 systems and loads of handsets and accessories. Installation material required for most sites consists of a master phone socket (£2.50) for each telephone (Pathway phone or standard phone), 100m of traditional indoor telephone cable (£9.95), bag of cable clips (£2.90) and inserter tool (£12.14). What makes the BT Pathway phone system different? 1. The Control Unit includes a distribution frame where all telephone cables are terminated. This means that you do not need to purchase, and install, a separate distribution box. 2. The system is configured from a BT Pathway system phone that uses a menu driven process. This means that you don't have to refer to a user-guide every time you want to make a simple change. 3. CLI (caller line identity) is supported without the need to purchase an extra card. 4. The BT Pathway is equipped with a door-phone port as standard. This means that if you purchase the optional door-intercom (£55.00), your visitors can press a button to ring an extension, or group of extensions. If an electric lock is fitted, the extension user can unlock the door simply by pressing the combination into the telephone. 5. The internal music-on-hold is better than most.
