The 237A connection strip consists of a 10 pair insulation displacement connection (IDC) connecting point that is very popular within the telecommunication industry. The 237 A provides a means of testing and disconnecting telephone wire without actually removing the wire from the connection point.

The connection strips are normally mounted inside a connection box.  Connection is made with a punch down IDC tool...commonly known as the 2A punch down tool.
